Tom is a former General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer and corporate law firm partner with more than two decades of experience advising founders, management teams, boards and investors.  He has worked both as an external adviser and as part of an executive team, which means he understands not only the legal answer, but the commercial, operational and human context in which decisions have to be made.

Before founding shared., Tom was General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Therium Capital Management, a global litigation finance and asset management business.  During his time there, he helped support the growth of a complex, regulated business, advised the executive team and board, managed legal, operational, governance and regulatory issues across multiple jurisdictions, and supported institutional capital raises totalling £525 million.

 

Earlier in his career, Tom was a corporate partner at K&L Gates, advising boards and senior management on transactions, governance, strategic partnerships and complex commercial agreements.  He has worked with businesses of different sizes and stages, from ambitious growth companies to established global organisations.
